From My Window

I enjoyed being the keynote speaker at the Elder Network Fall Fling, the annual fundraiser. Dress was semi-formal, and I had nothing to wear. Thank you to my dear friend, Jo Ann, for sharing her glamorous jacket with me.

Instead of speaking at the podium, I wore a clip-on mic, and circulated among the tables. When a new friend clipped the microphone on my jacket, I said, “Be  careful—this is borrowed finery.” After I finished my talk, “Because You Care,” the audience gave me a hearty round of applause, a lovely end to a lovely evening.

Reviews

First Steps, First Snow

I LOVED this. I loved its simplicity, and the depth it gave to those feelings.  I loved the connection to nature. I thought the illustrations were STUNNING.

NetGalley review by Megan Mann, librarian. 5 stars out of 5 stars.

The Family Caregiver’s Cookbook fills that need for good, nutritious, and healthy cooking that doesn’t require long cooking or prep times. Not only is the food nutritious but it tastes great! You can tailor you cooking to the dietary needs of the person you are caring for and still give them a quick and healthy meal that you feel good about.  I cannot sing the praises of this cookbook enough as it is packed full of the author’s experience. You’ll read her stories, hints, tips, and of course the delicious recipes. There is so much information between the covers of this book, it will become your most used resource!!! NetGalley Review by Theresa Dunlop. 5 out of 5 stars.

The Family Caregiver’s Cookbook is available as an eBook.  Order your copy today!

Book Business

I just finished writing my 45th book, Winning: A Story of Grief and Renewal.  It’s a creative nonfiction book that tells how I created a new life after experiencing multiple losses. Winning be released in the fall of next year.

The release date for First Steps, First Snow has been changed. It is now October 23rd.  This is a perfect holiday gift for children who love snow and children who have never seen it.

Quote of the Month

"Autumn is the time of year when Mother Nature says, "Look how easy, how healthy, and how beautiful letting go can be."

Toni Sorenson, author of Filling the Jars: Plan, Simplify, Take Action.
