"The title of this book surely matches its contents, and it definitely nurtures one's soul. One would not have to consider themselves spiritual to benefit from this book. It will help you relax and just help you feel better. A great book to keep near you for inspiration. I truly loved Spiritual Woman!" - Helen Staley

"Spiritual Woman is a book that should appeal to women of all ages. The meditation pathways were informative, and the many quotes allowed me to reach my 'inner spirit' in ways I had not thought of before. I recommend this book to all, even those who find 'spiritual' a word not in their lexicon. They may be surprised, Spiritual Woman is a delightful book." - Margaret S. Freel, RN, MSN

"Spiritual Woman: Nurturing Your Soul will be a welcome companion for each woman who discovers it. Harriet Hodgson has a gift for shaping the ordinary and familiar things around us into unique creations. She offers, in a new way, quotations and practices familiar to many of us. This is her gift to us for nurturing the deep well-spring, often hidden from others and from ourselves, that makes each one of us unique and lovable. The rapidity of changes is American culture makes Harriet's insights and recommendations both timely and timeless." - Carolyn Stickney Beck, Ph.D.

“Too often women get carried away with work and responsibilities. They rarely take time off for themselves, which often leads to frustration and stress piling up. The stress consequently takes a toll on their bodies. Women ought to take time out for themselves—to nurture themselves and to relax. Spiritual Woman: Nurturing Your Soul by Harriet W. Hodgson is a compilation of enriching quotes that helps to calm oneself and develop positivity. It is a reminder to lead a happy and positive life.

Although “Spiritual Woman” is the title of the book, you find quotes from both men and women. The quotes are not just from famous people but also include famous proverbs from countries like Ireland, China, Germany, Japan, and Sweden. The quotes instill resilience, bring peace, foster gratitude, and also encourage the reader to chase dreams and happiness.

When I was in school, we always started the day with a quote or proverb. I never noticed its importance until I read this book. I rarely encounter quotes as an adult, and reading this book made me realize the rejuvenating effect inspirational quotes can have on one’s mind. The author compiled quotes from individuals from different occupations, like actresses, authors, musicians, leaders, philosophers, doctors, and painters. Quotes from inspiring individuals like Oprah Winfrey, Martin Luther King Jr., Mahatma Gandhi, Plato, Helen Keller, and Marie Curie adorn the pages of this book.

The author provides meditation tips and types of meditation practices that one can choose to relax mentally. Harriet Hodgson shares her personal tips to improve one’s quality of life. I liked the layout of the book. It is not haphazardly arranged. Each page has around four to five quotes. There is absolutely nothing to dislike in this book.Whenever you feel down, you can pick a random page of the book and read a quote. You would feel mildly relieved after reading the quote. The author specifically intended this book for women, but I recommend this book to everyone irrespective of gender, to young adults and adults alike, as most of the quotes are applicable to all of them. Considering all the positive points, I give this book a rating of 5 out of 5 stars.” - Runan, Online Book Club
